Admissions

Admission Requirements

Fayetteville College of CosmetologyArts & Sciences does not discriminate in its employment, admission,instruction, or graduation policies on the basis of sex, age, race, color,religion, or ethnic origin nor does it recruit students already attending oradmitted to another school offering similar programs of study.  Fayetteville College of Cosmetology Arts& Sciences admits as regular students for all courses:  (1) high school graduates; (2) holders ofhigh school general equivalency certificate (G.E.D), or (3) holders of highschool equivalency diploma (H.S.E). The school does not acceptability-to-benefit testing. The State Board of Cosmetology requires theseadditional items submitted prior to the beginning of training:1.  Proof of Age  
  - Proof of Education*toqualify for Financial Aid: student must have one of the following:
  
  - Official Copy of High School Transcripts with 12  thgrade completion
  - Official Copy of G.E.D transcripts or H.S.E transcripts 
  - Official Copy of Home School Transcripts which can be verifiedthrough proper transcripts, state recognition, or any other means necessary forvalidation 
  - (School reserves the right to not accept a home school diplomathat cannot be recognized by state seal or valid transcripts, etc.)
  
  - CompletedApplication
  - SocialSecurity Card
  - Anystudent enrolling under a training agreement with another entity, the applicantmust meet the admissions requirements set forth in the training agreement withthe other entity.
  - Certificate of Attainment (only applicable for non-Title IVrecipients)Instructor applicants must meet all of the above requirements and:
  
  - Hold a current license as a practitioner in the field they wish toteach for a minimum of three years
  - Complete an application for enrollment
  - Must be able to complete at least 300 hours within a six monthperiod (per Tennessee State Board ofCosmetology Rules and Regulations)Please note with limited availability: For secondary students who are not enrolled under atraining agreement, the applicant must meet the following admissionsrequirements:Meet the state requirements for admission
  
  - Proof of completion of 10  th grade can be shown throughhigh school transcripts
  - Proof of age can be shown through driver’s license, birthcertificate, etc.
  - Provide permission in writing from the secondary school in whichthey are enrolled 
  - Successfully complete the pre-enrollment evaluation The schooloffers classes during the entire year, and any eligible person may enroll anyday of the week of any month that the school is in session.  Classes begin the first Tuesday of each month.  Orientation is conducted the first Tuesday ofeach month.

Transfer Students

Transferabilityof Credit Disclosure StatementCredits earned at Fayetteville Collegeof Cosmetology Arts & Sciences may not transfer to another educationalinstitution. Credits earned at another educational institution may not beaccepted by Fayetteville College of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences. You shouldobtain confirmation that Fayetteville College of Cosmetology Arts &Sciences will accept any credits you have earned at another educationalinstitution before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. You shouldalso contact any educational institutions that you may want to transfer creditsearned at Fayetteville College of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences to determineif such institutions will accept credits earned at Fayetteville College ofCosmetology Arts & Sciences prior to executing an enrollment contract oragreement. The ability to transfer credits from Fayetteville College ofCosmetology Arts & Sciences to another educational institution may be verylimited. Your credits may not transfer and you may have to repeat coursespreviously taken at Fayetteville College of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences ifyou enroll in another educational institution. You should never assume thatcredits will transfer to or from any educational institution. It is highlyrecommended and you are advised to make certain that you know the transfer ofcredit policy of Fayetteville College of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences and ofany other educational institutions you may in the future want to transfer thecredits earned at Fayetteville College of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement.


State Board Examination

Each student who successfully completes our Basic Cosmetology, Manicuring, Aesthetics or Teacher Training Course will then be issued the necessary forms to file for the State Board Examination. These exams are held daily.

Upon successful completion of this exam, a State License will be issued.
